Re: Gaming laptops

I do like the idea of the MXM cards - however they are rather rare and besides some old ones from stone age also not very cheap, so not sure if I'd spend a fortune if one with a soldered GPU is cheaper. So far i only had soldered GPUs and never problems - maybe luck or maybe the fact that i can usua...

Re: HTTPS configuration, enable TLS v1.3 and v1.2, disable all the older versions

Aight I found the mixed content issue. One was an absolute HHTP link to the forum which i replaced by "../Forums". The other one is actually dumb and I'd call this a "bug" in firefox or at least "questionable". It was the "base href" meta tag. In this example I misunderstood and misused the base hre...

Re: HTTPS configuration, enable TLS v1.3 and v1.2, disable all the older versions

Oh wow we got HTTPS... I never noticed. How generous of my hoster to provide a free SSL certificate. Yeah the mixed content is pretty obvious since I use some absolute links i think (like http://server/image i guess). Imma look into that when i got some spare time. Not sure about SSL 1.3 - gotta loo...

Raon Vega drawbacks

OK before i go bashing the Vega it has to be said that I think this is the best UMPC Raon ever made. They are rock solid, don't have any hardware problems and the battery lasts very long. So now to the drawbacks: - No Wifi, no Bluetooth, no 3G. Nothing. Nada! Use USB if you wanna be connected or for...

Re: Gaming laptops

Just checked these out and at least the models offered here in Germany are not exactly what I was looking for. Found a "refurbished" M6800 with a Quadro K3100M for like 1500 bucks - which i personally think is a blatant ripoff. I am currently using an old Toshiba Satellite P855-107. Kinda antique Co...

Sony picturebook

Does anyone else have a Sony picturebook (C1 series)?

Just refurbished one. They actually work fine with Windows XP. Only thing i couldn't get to work was the camera, but i think this might be a hardware problem.

Re: Any game developers in here?

Thanks! :) No i sold that machine to a wealthy collector from Oregon who bugged me about it. I always wanted to make an improved version which includes an actual gamepad and a lit marquee - actually i got all the parts for it at home, but as with loads of my projects it got postponed indefinitely si...

Re: Another Palmtop collector: reporting for duty

Yeah indeed, this is kinda rare hobby so after my "secret" list was indexed by google and had that many hits i thought these cute old machines deserve a forum, too. Kinda "rare" hobby if you compare to collecting old games or so. The IBM PC110 docking station is indeed disappointing.I guess the only...

Microcars

Well I have always been fascinated by these tiny cars commonly known as "Microcars" (WHich is actually a brand name) since i saw a video of the legendary Peel P-50. So imma make a list here to keep track of the models I find interesting. Most of these are rare and/or classics. I don't like most of t...

Re: Another Palmtop collector: reporting for duty

Wow, nice! Welcome to the club. I do love the IBM PC110. In 1995 it was breaking all records and made loads of jaws drop. And still today it is pretty useful - well OK the keyboard is a bit "difficult" to use with my gigantic hands - but definitely a fun machine. I also have several Librettos. I alw...
